Behind almost every inmate are a hurting family. Some have become callused after years of seeing their loved one go in and out of jail. Other families are just beginning to deal with a rebellious son or daughter. Yet others are stunned to find that the loved one that has been a good and law-abiding son, daughter, brother, sister, mother, or father has committed a serious crime. No matter the scenario, the family needs as much or sometimes more help than the inmate. It is for this reason that the chaplaincy does not confine its ministry to inmates alone. Often while the inmate is being helped the family must be helped as well. They need answers. They need guidance. They need comforting and assurance. All of these things can be provided by the chaplaincy from the Word of God. Ministry to inmate families takes the following forms: Counseling, Lobby, Referrals and Christmas Outreach
